MSL New Logo

Initial Logo

Later.......

NOW.....

Whatever changes you do, it's about winning. EPL, La Liga, Seria A never changed their logo, but still maintained their quality and attracted the spectators.

Hope we can have the same.

MSL has new COO

Stuart Michael Ramalingam (left) is the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Malaysian Super League (MSL) Sdn Bhd. On his left is of course German legend, Lothar Matthaeus.

A FIFA marketing consultant and instructor who in 2009 was tasked to help promote and market the Myanmar national league, Stuart, 33, who hails from Petaling Jaya, replaces Seremban chap Kuhan Foo, 41, who is now the Asean Basketball League (ABL) CEO.

Stuart's appointment was endorsed by the FAM exco last week. He will be working closely with MSL Chairman, Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

23 Pedestrian Bride in KL are unsafe

Twenty-three pedestrian bridges and a busy walkway in the city have been declared unsafe by the police.

City police has come out with a list detailing the bridges which need attention – mainly for lack of lighting and visibility which were ideal for crime.

This has stung the Kuala Lumpur City Hall into action, with the local authority saying the bridges will be repaired or upgraded within two weeks.

Federal Territories Gerakan anti-crime and public safety bureau chief Lim Teck Ang, who disclosed this, said advertisement boards fixed to the bridges would be removed as they were blocking users’ view.

Lights will also be replaced or installed to ensure the bridges are well lit at all times,” he added.

Lim, who had highlighted the problem to city police, said the roof of several bridges were too low.

“City Hall will replace them to allow more lighting and visibility,’’ he added.

“Eleven of the bridges were deemed too dark, seven were covered by advertisement boards and trees with the rest not well-maintained,” he added.

The bridges included those in Jalan Pahang, Jalan Genting Klang, Jalan Gombak (Off Jalan Chong Hwa and Batu 5), Jalan Ipoh, MRR2, Abdullah Hukum, Jalan Pantai Baru and Bangsar. The walkway identified was the one linking KL Sentral to the Brickfields monorail station.

My comment
I realised that all above stated areas are under opposition, thus it could be a political fiasco, to get voters to vote for Bee Ann.

Messi was on a three-man shortlist with Barca team-mates Xavi and Andres Iniesta but, despite Spain's World Cup triumph, the Argentina forward came out on top in the voting.

He becomes the first winner of the FIFA Ballon d'Or, which merges France Football magazine's European Footballer of the Year prize with the FIFA World Player of the Year. The awards were based on the votes of the coaches and captains of national sides as well as global journalists.

Messi scored more than any other player in Europe's top five leagues in 2010, with 42 goals in 36 La Liga games, as well as finishing top scorer in the Champions League in 2010 with 12 goals in 12 games.
He was also World player of the year in 2009 and 2nd best in 2008 behind Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bad Start for Kenny Dalglish

Kenny Dalglish was the choice for Liverpool after sacking Roy Hodgson. The former Liverpool and English player had his important match yesterday when they meet Man United at 3rd round of FA cup.
Just after 2 minutes, penalty was awarded when Berbatov nicely acted as if he was pushed in penalty box and the referee offered the spot kick. Ryan Gigs didn't do any mistake to kick the ball at right corner and the goalie, Pepe Reina went to left side.
At 37th minute, Steven Gerrard was sent off with a red card with 2 footed attack over Michael Carrick. And the score remained at 1-0 till end of the match.
Hope this lose will revive the team to qualify for Europa Cup at least.

2 coaches with Different attention

We noted our new year gift was Misbun Sidek's resignation and P.Arivalagan's sacking.

The sports Minister, Datuk Sabery Chik immediately became the middle man between Misbun and BAM. They were really wanting to get him back to the team. One of the reason was, Datuk Lee and several other national players were threatening of quiting national team and following Misbun's footstep to Nusa Mashuri.

On the other hand, P.Arivalagan's coaching contract was not renewed and the association is planning to hire foreign coach. Under Arivalagan's tenure as coach, Malaysia became overall Asian champions in 2007, best performer behind Japan in Asian Games and best in Southeast Asia for several Sea Games. He is one of the coach whom really follows "1 Malaysia" concept where you can see all the races in the team (Malay, Indian, Chinese).

I realise that for President of Malaysian Karate Federation (MAKAF), don't even know ABC about karate. He got elected as President because he is in UMNO and Chief Minister of a state in West Malaysia. His agenda, is to swindle more money by hiring foreign coaches. The athletes itself has boycotted the training and they really want Arivalagan as the coach.

But our MSN Director, Zolkeples "Sombong", said that athletes got no rights to choose coach. Their job is only to train. The ministry doesn't even bother to interfere and MSN will only talk to the president of MAKAF and not to be the middle person.

What the heck? Why double standard?

Know This Sportsman - K.RAJAGOBAL

Playing Career
Club: PKNS FC (1978-1989)
Played for Malaysia: 1980-1982

Coaching Career
PKNS FC : 1990-1998
Selangor: 1999-2000
Kelantan: 2001
Malaysia U-20: 2004-2006
Harimau Muda A : 2007-2009
Malaysia: 2009 till Now

Achievement:
M-League - Division 2 Title with Selangor (2000) and Kelantan (2001)
M-League - Division 1 Title with Harimau Muda A (2009)
SEA Games - Gold (2009) after 20 years
Asian Games - 2nd Round(2010) after 32 year
AFF Cup - Champion (2010)

He had less achievement during his tenure as player. Though he could have gone for Olympics in 1982, but due to boycott, the team didn't participate.

If Idris Jala was a transformer for Malaysia Airlines, K.Rajagobal is the "Idris Jala" of football. When Selangor was in deep shit in year 1999, he came into the team and made them to gain promotion back to Division 1. But Selangor team sacked him.

Following year, he went to Kelantan and did the repeat the same achievement in Selangor. However, he was smart that he took the national job after that.

Now he achieved something which no other coaches would have achieved it by winning both Sea Games and AFF Cup.

For the last 20 years, there were so many foreign coaches in the National team, but no one could even come close compared to him.

As he says, "You have to be patient to see the success".

There were no reasons given. However, rumors saying that it was because of the his power was weakened after Wong Mew Choo and Misbun Ramdan was taken out from his group and transferred to other coaches.

Now, we don't know how Datuk Lee is going to perform.

No Plastic Bag on Saturdays

I was at Giant,Brem Mall yesterday. After purchasing few bottles of 100+, the cashier told me that there's no plastic bags, otherwise, I have to pay 20cents.

Damn, how am I going to carry 10 bottles by hand . Furthermore, I have to walk out of the mall to my car. How to carry all this stuff. So I juts left the place.

I realise, at Tesco extra, they have already been practising this method for the past 3 years. BUT they allow you to take the troley with you till your car boot.

Why cant's all supermarkets practise this by allowing the consumer to bring the troley to our vehicle, should you not allowing us to use the plastic bags.

Good Bye 2010, Hello 2011

365 days just passed.

And it's new year again. People always say, "Yesterday was History, Tomorrow is Dream, Today is the REAL." Utilise yesterday's history today to realise your dream tomorrow.

Of course for me there were ups and down throughout the year.

Mega Achievement
1. Conquered Mount Kinabalu
2. Completed Biathlon

Achievement
1. Participated and completed 1st ever Penang Bridge Half Marathon
2. Reclaimed IAFG 1500M title
3. Took part 1st ever race in Melaka
4. Posted 178 blogs on the page (2009: 119)
5. Performed stage dance after lapse of 5 years.
6. Obtained 28 medals (2009:26medals)
6. off course, new job as Manager at MAZARS

Downside
1. Not obtaining promotion at Ernst & Young as Senior 1
2. Failing to be Division podium finisher
3. Couldn't able to reduce weight to 58kg (at least maintained at 61kg for the whole year)

Again, this year, my job became the time stealer which did not reap the benefit. I was wondering, working like robot means getting better pay. But at other side, I was loosing the quality time for family, friends and personal development.

Though we work hard, but our evaluators holds the key and they happens to be unethical at certain point of time and condemns the work performed.

Putting our feet in other peoples shoes will make us to realise how painful certain people's feelings.

But as famous EPL managers says, if one manager left you out, another manager is looking at you.

I just wonder, quantity is always identifiable rather that quality. I have raked 28 running medals throughout the year but none of it brought me personal best timing. So what's next, be like Lin Dan, and just focus on tournaments which can bring reputable name for you.

Whatever it is, I hope to have a quality moments rather than just the quantity alone with ethical achievements.

Year End Review

I had few targets for Year 2010 and these are the verdict:

1. To be a Chartered Accountant - Achieved
2. To obtain promotion to Senior 1 position (Super senior) - Became Asst.Manager
3. To be Division Champion in (Humorous/Evaluation/Table Topics/International Speech) - Failed (unplaced)
4. To get back my gold medal in IAFG 1500M - Achieved
5. To reduce my weight to 57kg - Finished at 61kg (atleast maintained it)

What a nice end for the year

I have not been playing football since 2006, thus I followed my school junior to play football near my housing area. It was fun and enticing for us especially for me to touch the ball after lapse of 4 years. At the end, my team won 3-1 where I scored one of the goal.

Thus, in 2011, decided to take up football as my active resting activity.

Then, me, wife with my campus junior and classmate went to "The Curve" and hunted for a place to sit at a restaurant. Everywhere was packed with people. Finally, we manage to go to Station Kopitiam.

Next we bought the party spray, 6 can for RM10 and waited till the countdown. There were no official countdown. What we knew was when there was fire works, it means, it's new year.

Just upon the the fire work started, the party also started. everyone started spraying the spray and there goes " HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011".
