Guest Speaker at Jakarta Toastmasters Club

Your value is only worthy, when you go to another zone and gained the respect. It's what happened when, I was invited by Dinesh Waswani (District Champion) to visit his club (Jakarta Innovators Toastmasters Club). He requested me to share my knowledge on how to add varieties to the club and I graciously accepted it. I shared my knowledge how differently I handled my club to revive it and challenges you may face as leaders.

It was my first time presenting on a foreign soil and I wanted to make it a great outing. With the applause and comments I received. I was glad that my style of presentation was accepted.

This was followed by invitation by Jakarta Motivators Club where, they requested me to share knowledge on encouraging members to complete their Competent Leader manual. The meeting was publicised and it was also attended by 3 other clubs around Jakarta.

There was warm welcome from the audience and other clubs were wanting to invite me to their clubs. Really felt honored to present speeches in front of different type of audience. I'm glad that I made my 1st step into International Arena.

Najib as the Match Fixer

When a party is weakening is either you close shop or change the leadership. It's the same goes to Many Insider Crisis (MIC). Nevertheless, our Prime Minister has called all 4 current top MIC office bearers and agreed that nobody will contest for the top post, which means current President will retain the position.

Current  deputy president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam and vice presidents Datuk M. Saravanan and Datuk S.K. Devamany decided to heed the Prime Minister’s advice. They agreed to the no contest for the president’s post for the sake of unity.

There were talks saying former deputy President Datuk S.Subramaniam and Former President's son VellPari may contest for top position.

So are we just going to be followers or are we going to be the leaders whom will embrace changes?

It's just not about Chong Wei.....

We have seen Lee Chong Wei playing 2nd fiddle yet again to great Dan. Excuses were said especially on the air-condition system. Lin Dan was even cramped after the price giving ceremony.

My question, Chong Wei had to take part in at least 5 tournaments before playing in world championship, wherelse, Lin Dan only played 1 tournament after London Olympics and before World Championship.

Age is no barrier for success, but adequate recovery is is crucial with proper rehabilitation.

But we also need to think who will be his successor. Chong Wei Feng and Daren Liew merely reached 3rd round when China already had 3 players in quarterfinals.

The 2nd best in the country, Daren Liew is not even at his peak when juniors like Ratchanok and PV Sindhu is already showing their stripes.

Going to coaches, when we said Good Bye to Rexy, he came to his home land and now they got 2 titles. So is it something wrong with the coach or with our players?

We have world number 2 whom didn't even pass quarterfinals, and world number 5 in mixed doubles whom didn't even pass 2nd round.

So BAM, rather than being tunnel vision on focusing on Chong Wei alone, it's really a time to be open minded and reduce egoism for betterment of the sports.

Else, we will be depending on 34 years old then, Chong wei for a gold medal in Brazil Olympics.

Dilemma of 2 coaches

Paul Revington has tendered his resignation and later accepted to continue his service till completion of Asia Cup. It was suggested to have a local coach after his service as we had Stephen Van huezen in early 2000 where we qualified for Olympics.

On the other hand, K.Rajagobal is safe till end of the year although many pressures for him to resign after poor performance in last year's AFF cup and current friendly matches. He has final option not be be kicked out which is to qualify for the Asian Cup by winning the qualifying round.

On the other hand, badminton still looking for coaching director.

Looks like even at this stage, Malaysia whom were former powerhouse for Football and current powerhouse for badminton and hockey is still struggling in coaching system.

Chua Boon Huat Funeral in Malaysian way

It's common to have more Chinese community in a Chinese funeral and Indian community in a Indian funeral. But Chua Boon Huat made it different and it was a true Malaysian spirit when all races were there to pay him the last respect.

It was more touching when the current national team players carried the coffin. The only religion/race they had at that moment was "hockey".

There were shirts worn by the fan with wording "We love Chua Boon Huat".

When the government is still finding it tough to get racial unity, you made it so easyly. Only thing, you had to sacrifice your life.

RIP My coach : Ishtiaq Mubaraq

I wrote abt him 3 years ago. Here's the link:

He is one of the few malaysian coaches whom has A license which enables him to train any international athlete. It's tough to get another coach cum athlete like him.
